Development of an Environmentally Friendly Product

The project is funded by the Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan ‘Next Generation Lithuania.’ It will include experimental development activities and, through the application of zero-waste technologies, an environmentally friendly product will be created, – an innovative material for the production of thermal insulation panels.

The innovative material being developed offers an alternative to traditional materials, as it will be produced solely from by-products of biomass processing. This solution will reduce the use of primary raw materials, the amount of waste generated, and production costs. Moreover, it will promote the local raw material recycling industry and reduce the carbon footprint compared to traditional products made from primary raw materials.

The project budget is €62,518.45 (EU funding: €50,000.00). The implementation period is from 28 October 2024 to 31 October 2025.

Innovations of dried blood microsampling technology

The project is implemented under Sub-Activity ‘Promoting high value-added direct foreign investments (HVA DFI): implementation of R&D, cooperation and technology transfer between large enterprises and SMEs in the technology and innovation areas (Central and Western Lithuania)‘ of Activity ‘Promoting attraction of direct foreign investments in R&D under Progress Measure No 05-001-01-05-07 ‘Establishing a Coherent System for the Promotion of Innovative Activities’ under the Economic Transformation and Competitiveness Development Programme for 2022–2030 managed by the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania.

The project aims to upgrade UAB Imunodiagnostika‘s IVD medical device ‘Dried blood microsampler’ by improving the composition of the polymeric sample absorption tip and introducing hemoglobin binding functionality.

Project budget 1 364 325,75 EUR (EU funding 818 595,46 EUR). Project duration 27/06/2024 – 27/06/2026. Project is implemented by Imunodiagnostika with partner Polymer Competence Center. Project funding agency Innovation Agency Lithuania (project No. 02-020-K-0066).

R&D Initiatives of UAB ’RETAL Baltic Films’

UAB ’RETAL Baltic Films’ together with partner MB ‘Polymer Competence Center‘  is implementing an EU-funded project aimed at developing fully recyclable, transparent, long-term high oxygen barrier mono-APET film product prototypes through R&D activities. The concept of these products will seamlessly integrate sustainability goals, enhanced food freshness preservation, and innovative manufacturing technologies.

Two innovative product prototypes will be developed:

A fully recyclable, high long-term oxygen barrier mono-APET film (HB-monoAPET).
A fully recyclable, high long-term oxygen barrier mono-APET film with an advanced sealing function (HB-HSeal-monoAPET).

Project value: €2,178,649, of which €1,501,640 is EU funding. Project duration: June 2024 – June 2026.
